The recipient of a BS in aerospace engineering from Pennsylvania State University, John Wathen IV possesses leadership experience as a cadet in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and is currently pursuing his pilot license at ATP Flight School. John Moss Wathen IV is also computer literate, with a strong command of Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of MATLAB.

MATLAB is an acronym for matrix laboratory. MATLAB is a high-performance technical computer language. It combines computation, visualization, and programming in a user-friendly interface with problems and solutions written in common mathematical notation. Algorithmic development, modeling, simulation, data analysis, engineering graphics, and prototyping are examples of typical engineering applications that can be handled using MATLAB.

MATLAB is an interactive system with an array as its basic data element that does not need dimensioning. With MATLAB, engineers can solve many technical computing issues in a fraction of the time it takes to build a program in scalar noninteractive languages (such as Fortran), especially ones using matrix and vector formulations. MATLAB is the standard educational tool for beginning and advanced mathematics, engineering, and science courses at universities. It is also a recommended tool for high-productivity research and development.
